Registration

Please register for WDAS2004 by sending a short email to magdalena.punceva@epfl.ch. For each accept paper at least 1 co-author has to register. The registration fee is 150 Euro and includes coffee breaks, a lunch, a conference dinner, and the proceedings. Payment will be done cash on-site at the workshop.

Hotels

We have negotiated some nice rates with 2 hotels in Lausanne. We recommend you book your room there. Please reserve your room ASAP as July is high season here and there are a number of events (e.g., the Lausanne marathon) with many people visiting.

Getting to Lausanne

You can either fly in to Geneva or Zürich. Geneva is closer. From Geneva airport, there are at least 3 direct trains for Lausanne every hour at h.+09, h.+21, h. and +35. The fastest leaves at h.+21 and takes 43 minutes. The other trains take 50 minutes. From Zürich airport there are at least 2 trains for Lausanne every hour at h.+13 and h.+43. The fastest leaves at h.+13 and it takes 2:41 between the airport and Lausanne. For comprehensive information please check the web site of the Swiss railways at http://www.rail.ch/index_e.htm.

Getting to EPFL

A metro station is located just in front of the main train station in Lausanne. Take the metro M1 uphill, in direction "Centre-Ville", until the end of the line ("Flon"). There, transfer to what is called the TSOL (departures every 10 minutes), with the same ticket. Get off at the stop named "EPFL". EPFL is located on a large campus outside of Lausanne. The trip from the railway station to EPFL will take approx. 30 minutes.

Please be careful when you buy your ticket for the metro: You need the exact amount in Swiss Francs as the wending machine does not return change. The price for the ticket is CHF 2.40,-

Equipment

A projector to connect your laptop to is available.

Internet access

We will provide unlimited campus wide wireless access to the Internet. You'll need a WLAN card and a web browser. We will provide you with the necessary access credentials at the workshop.

It is *NOT* possible to provide Internet access via Ethernet (cable).

You *MUST* bring a WLAN card if you want to have Internet access.
